Our state-of-the-art Elite Gym is exclusively for our scholarship and sports students to provide our athletes with every opportunity to reach their full potential.

The gym is located on the Bishopstown Campus in our Sports Stadium. This unique space with two floors boosts 5 squat racks, a full range of free weights, multiple resistance and cardio machines, and a range of sports-specific equipment. The gym is also ideal for squad sessions.

MTU Athletics Stadium has a seating capacity of over 1,080 spectators. This impressive Stadium complements the eight-lane, international standard running track, and infield area. The facility can cater to all disciplines such as pole vault, high jump, long jump, javelin, shot putt, discus, and hammer.

The indoor warm-up area located underneath the stand includes a five-lane sixty meters of synthetic surface track and a long-jump pit ideal for pre-competition warm-up and winter training. The stadium also includes a meeting room and results room for media and event organisers.

The MTU track is the home of all South Munster schools and Cork County club track and field championships and was opened in 1979. MTU has hosted Cork City Sports Ireland’s premier European Athletics Permit Meeting since 2010. The event attracts World & Olympic medallists to Cork City in the heart of the summer each year.

MTU has a number of Astro Turf Pitches that are available for hire. The facility is used for soccer, hockey and multi-sport games. The Astro Turf is a fully enclosed flood let facility available for MTU students and staff and outside clubs etc. to book.

MTU caters for all major sporting codes, with eight grass playing pitches, 7 of which are floodlit (3 soccer, 2 rugby, 2 GAA and 1 multi-purpose) ideally located on the river bank. All pitches are contained within one area and are fully maintained by ground staff with easy access to dressing room facilities.

The Stadium has seating capacity for 1,100 spectators overlooking the multi-sport grass pitch with a media room for sporting fixtures.

At certain times during the year, our pitches are available for hire.

Please note that third parties utilising MTU facilities will also need to meet insurance requirements and provide relevant policy document to ensure the booking. The limit of Public Liability should be €6.5m and Employers Liability €13m with a specific indemnity to MTU which is mandatory.
